Save Ferris Brings the Bounce Back to Atlanta
If you didn’t walk out of Hell at The Masquerade riding a full-on positive energy high Saturday night, you might’ve been at the wrong show. Save Ferris made their long-overdue return to Atlanta on May 10, and their energy could’ve powered a small city. With a stacked lineup and a room full of die-hard ska-punk fans, the whole night felt less like a concert and more like a nonstop celebration.
The night kicked off with Left Hand Hotdog, who brought a chaotic, hilarious burst of ska and punk weirdness. Next up was The Taj Motel Trio, delivering a tight, upbeat set that had the crowd locked in from the jump. Then came Keep Flying, whose explosive mix of brass, punk, and pure fire nearly blew the roof off. By the time Save Ferris hit the stage, the room was electric.
Then Monique Powell stepped into the spotlight. Dressed in soft baby blue and iconic red hair, she immediately owned the room with her signature mix of swagger, humor, and total command. Backed by a razor-sharp band, she launched into “Anything” and didn’t let up for the rest of the night.

From the bubbly bounce of “The World Is New” to the tight, punchy horns of “Superspy,” and of course the crowd-favorite “Come On Eileen,” every song landed hard. The band was locked in with a tight rhythm section, horns blazing, and Monique’s vocals clear, powerful, and on point all night.
Throughout the set, Monique took time to shout out the other bands, thank the fans, and reflect on the journey Save Ferris has taken. It felt raw, personal, and full of heart. Exactly what you want from a band that helped define a scene.
Hell might not be the biggest stage at The Masquerade, but on this night it held the biggest vibes. Save Ferris didn’t just play a show; they gave Atlanta a jolt of joy and reminded us why we love them.
