The Offspring brought a full-force wave of punk rock energy to Alpharetta’s Ameris Bank Amphitheatre on July 15 during their stop on the Supercharged Worldwide Tour, lighting up the night with a set full of nostalgia, crowd-pleasing anthems, and a few unexpected surprises that had the entire venue on its feet.
The show was hosted by 99X, and the crowd showed up early, ready to throw it back to one of punk’s most defining eras. New Found Glory kicked things off with a high-energy set that felt like a pop-punk summer party. Fans were singing, crowd surfing, and bouncing along before the sun even went down. It was the perfect way to jumpstart the night.
Jimmy Eat World followed with a set that tapped into the heart of early 2000s rock. Packed with fan favorites, the energy peaked when “Sweetness” and “The Middle” kicked in. The crowd went all in, singing every word from the front row to the back of the lawn.
Once The Offspring hit the stage, the energy shot through the roof. Dexter Holland’s voice was strong and on point, and Noodles kept the riffs coming like a machine. The setlist moved fast, packed with classics like “Come Out and Play,” “Why Don’t You Get a Job,” and “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy),” as well as later staples like “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid.”

One of the standout moments came when Holland took a seat at the piano for “Gone Away.” The rest of the band stepped offstage, leaving him alone under a single spotlight. As he played, fans lit up the amphitheatre with their phones and sang along, turning the venue into a glowing chorus. It was a simple but powerful scene, just the crowd, the lights, and the music.
The Offspring didn’t hold back for this tour. There was a blimp flying through the amphitheatre, a guy in a gorilla suit launching T-shirts, a ridiculous game show segment, and even a booty cam that had the whole place laughing.
But underneath all the fun moments, something about the night really stuck with me. It felt personal. Like flipping through chapters of my own life.
I still remember hearing “Come Out and Play” for the first time as a teenager and getting hooked on that “Gotta keep ’em separated” line. Then there was “All I Want” blasting from my old TV every time I fired up Crazy Taxi on my Dreamcast. Later, “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” became a go-to in my 30s. Their songs have been part of every stage.
These days, they’re still part of my daily drive, still putting out solid music, and I’m still singing every word. Not many bands stick around like that. I’m just glad I’ve been along for the ride.
An unforgettable night hosted by 99X, featuring three bands that still know how to light up a crowd and take you right back to the days of burned CDs, Warped Tour summers, and singing along like nothing else mattered.
The Supercharged Worldwide Tour is just getting started in the U.S., so if it’s headed your way, don’t miss it. This one’s built for fans, old and new.
