Indie rock mainstays Franz Ferdinand are heading back to North America this summer with a newly announced run of headline tour dates across the United States.
The tour begins August 2 in Buffalo, New York and travels through major cities including Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Austin, and Dallas before wrapping up on August 15. One of the most notable stops comes August 9 when the band will open for My Chemical Romance at Citi Field in Queens, New York.
Atlanta fans will get their chance to see the band live on August 12 at Buckhead Theatre, a room known for hosting some of the city’s most memorable club-level shows. The stop brings one of the most recognizable indie catalogs of the 2000s back to Atlanta, including hits like “Take Me Out,” “No You Girls,” and “Do You Want To.”
Tickets for the newly announced shows go on sale Friday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster. A fan presale begins Tuesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Live Nation presale on March 12 for Live Nation All Access members.
Before arriving in North America, Franz Ferdinand will spend the spring touring across Europe with performances scheduled in London, Paris, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, and several other cities.
The band continues touring behind their latest album The Human Fear, released in 2025. The record marked another chapter in the group’s long running career that has blended dance-punk energy with sharp indie songwriting since their breakout in the early 2000s.
Frontman Alex Kapranos recently spoke out after the band’s song “Take Me Out” was used in a military propaganda video by the Israeli Defense Forces. Kapranos said the band did not authorize the use and condemned the video publicly on social media.
Franz Ferdinand have never avoided political commentary throughout their career. In 2016 the band released
the protest track “Demagogue,” an openly critical song aimed at Donald Trump during the U.S. presidential election.
