The Yot Club show at Terminal West played out like a nostalgic indie-pop dream, enveloping the audience in a continuous, hazy soundscape of smooth melodies and chill energy.

The night kicked off with zzzahara, the perfect tone setter for the night yet to come. Their opening set masterfully balanced laid-back indie melodies with sudden surges of driving energy. For instance, the understated, low-key "Cinderella's Daughter" contrasted sharply with the upbeat rhythms, lush synths, and flashing lights of "they don't know" just one song prior. Marking their very first performance in Atlanta, the LA-based artist took a moment to give the city an appreciative shout-out. Before closing the set, zzzahara shared an inside look at their forthcoming album, Distant Lands, treating the crowd to a vibrant live rendition of their latest single, "Speed Racer."

When Yot Club took the stage, the room shifted into a deeply atmospheric space as moody lighting and thick fog rolled across the stage, perfectly mirroring the music ahead. John Ryan Kaiser, the creative force behind Yot Club, paused early on to acknowledge the milestone, noting it was his first time playing the iconic Terminal West stage and expressing his own fondness for the city of Atlanta.

The main set drifted effortlessly between sub-genres, ebbing from slow, introspective bedroom-pop tracks to driving, upbeat indie rock that kept the room vibing. Between tracks, Kaiser kept the performance grounded with spontaneous crowd interactions. When an audience member called out "Spills," Kaiser laughed, explaining it was an old nickname earned from his tendency to spill things (even admitting he was still keeping a cautious eye on the water bottle at his feet). Later, spotting a fan in the front, he paused to ask if it was her birthday. When she enthusiastically confirmed, he offered her a song request. She wanted to request "no way !", but it had already been played as the opening song. She then requested "Dog Song." Though Kaiser admitted the band hadn't rehearsed it, he delivered a solo rendition that then saw the rest of the band join the rhythm by the end.

The thick, moody fog remained a visual anchor throughout the entire night, reaching a peak when the hypnotic notes of Yot Club’s platinum hit "YKWIM?" filled the room. Kaiser prompted the crowd to sing along, bringing everyone closer together. Closing out the evening with a one-two punch of energetic fan favorites, the band wrapped the night with "can't celebrate" and "japan," leaving Terminal West on a high note.
